The Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) today published Scottish Social Service Sector: Report on 2014 Workforce Data.
The SSSC has revised and republished the 2012 Scottish Social Services workforce data report. This follows the identification of an error in the original version of the 2012 report published in September 2013. The error resulted in the social service workforce headcount being underestimated by approximately 1,200 i.e. 0.6% of the sector's workforce.

This report is published by the SSSC as part of our duties under the Regulation of Care (Scotland) Act 2001.The data provides a comprehensive picture of the sector’s workforce at the end of 2011.
This is the third workforce data report published by the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC). The report combines data from the Scottish Government’s annual census of staff in local authority social work services with data from the annual returns collected by the Care Inspectorate from all registered care providers. The data presented in this report were gathered in late 2010.
