Scottish Social Services Workforce Data
Adults' services workforce tables 2022
These tables look in detail at the adults' services workforce in Scotland. They supplement data already published in the Scottish Social Service Sector: Report on 2022 Workforce Data.
Adults' services account for just below 70 percent of the Scottish social service workforce and are made up of the following sub-sectors:
- adult day care
- adult placement services
- care homes for adults
- fieldwork service (adults)
- fieldwork service (generic)
- fieldwork service (offenders)
- housing support/care at home
- nurse agencies
- offender accommodation services
The tables give an overview which includes all adults' services sub-sectors. They focus in detail on the two most prominent sub-sectors: care homes for adults (CHA) and housing support/care at home (HSCAH) (shown in bold above).
The data used in the tables come from the Care Inspectorate’s Annual Returns (CIARs) for registered care services in Scotland and from the annual Scottish Local Authority Social Work Services (LASWS) returns for 2022.
