We are pleased to announce that the Social worker filled posts and vacancies six-monthly survey at June 2025 will be published on the morning of Wednesday 17th December at 9:30am.

This report presents data on the whole time equivalent (WTE) number of social workers and social work vacancies in local authority social work services at June 2025. It is the fifth of our half-yearly reports on practising social workers (that is, main grade social workers and senior social workers).

We are pleased to announce that the Scottish Social Service Sector: Report on the 2024 Workforce Data will be published on Tuesday 30th September 2025 at 9.30am on the SSSC data website.

The report was originally expected to be published at the end of August, however, there were significant delays in receiving all the data this year, which led to publication being pushed back by a month.
