Scottish Social Services Workforce Data
Publication of Adults' services and Children's services reports 2016
We are pleased to announce the publication today of reports on Adults' services and Children's services for 2016. The Adults' services report is available here and the Children's services report here.
The data in these reports supplements data already published in the annual Scottish Social Service Sector: Report on 2016 Workforce Data (SSSC, September 2017). We’ve published the reports in response to requests for more information on some adults and children’s services.
Adults’ Services Workforce 2016 - this is the first time we have published this report which provides a more detailed breakdown of the workforce in care homes for adults and in housing support and care at home services. In previous years the material on housing support and care at home was a separate chapter within the annual workforce data report.
Children’s Services Workforce 2016 - this is the second edition of this report; we published the first in March 2017. New this year is the inclusion of a separate section on the workforce in early learning and childcare services. These are a subset of day care of children services and there is particular interest in this area with the Scottish Government’s planned expansion of free childcare provision in the next few years.
