Publication date set for 2013 workforce data report

We are pleased to announce that Scottish Social Services Sector: Report on 2013 Workforce Data will be published on Tuesday 30 September 2014. It will appear on the Scottish Social Services Council Workforce Data website (http://data.sssc.uk.com) at 9.30am.

Revision to 2012 detailed workforce data

Minor formatting and labelling issues were identified in the 2012 detailed workforce information. The issue affects the "LA SWS Table" tab for the rows between Orkney Islands and South Lanarkshire. Some of the Local Authority and Location/Activity labels do not align with the data correctly which gives misleading results. The "LA SWS Data" tab is not affected by this issue.

The file was corrected and can be downloaded from the 2012 detailed workforce information page.

2011 social services workforce statistics

The private sector continues to be the biggest social services employer in Scotland with 42% of workers employed by private companies, according to new statistics released by the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) today. The 2011 Workforce Data Report is the first report from the SSSC as an Official Statistics provider. The annual statistics also show a decrease in the overall size of the workforce.
