The interactive Social Worker Data Tool allows you to interactively investigate data on practising social workers employed by local authorities. Guidance and background notes are included within the tool.

Local Authority Post Types 2022
This file allows you to interactively investigate the Local Authority Post Types data. The file presents headcount and WTE (whole time equivalent) data of all filled posts in local authority social work services where those employed do not work in a registered care service. This therefore covers staff working primarily in field social work services. The data published includes a breakdown of the numbers of different people and posts across the whole of Scotland as well as by individual local authorities.

2021 Children's Services Workforce Tables
This file contains The Children’s Services Workforce 2021 Tables. These tables look at the workforce in children’s services in Scotland broken by sub-sector, and focuses in detail on the three sub-sectors which can be split further (day care of children, residential child care, and school care accommodation). It supplements data already published in the Scottish Social Service Sector: Report on 2021 Workforce Data.

These tables look at a time series from 2011 to 2021 of the adults' services workforce and show the change over time of the composition of adults’ services.
These tables also include an overview of the headcount, numbers of services, median number of staff and employer type for all adults’ services’ sub-sectors.
