Scottish Social Services Workforce Data
Announcements
Publication of MHO time series data
We are pleased to announce that MHO workforce data tables and charts have been published for the full period for which the SSSC holds this data (available here):
- MHO numbers, full contracted Whole Time Equivalent (WTE) and WTE per 100k population: 2005 – 2015
- MHO trainees: 2008/09 – 2015/16
- MHO leavers: 2009 – 2015
- All other MHO data: 2008 – 2015
Publication of 2015 LA post type data
We are pleased to announce that the breakdown of LA post types for 2015 was published on Friday 2nd September (available here). The spreadsheets present headcount and WTE (whole time equivalent) data of all filled posts in local authority social work services where those employed do not work in a registered care service. This therefore covers staff working primarily in field social work services.
Change to naming of Eilean Siar (Western Isles)
Previously, the Western Isles council area was referred to in Gaelic as Eilean Siar as encouraged by government guidance. New guidance advises that it should now be Na h-Eileanan Siar. We now use this name in our publications; previous publications will not be amended unless they are updated as part of a time series, for example the interactive visualisations. As a result of this change, the area now appears between Moray and North Ayrshire in tables and charts.
Publication of 2015 MHO Report
We are pleased to announce that the Mental Health Officers (Scotland) 2015 Report was published on Monday 29th August 2016 (available here).
