This Sector Skills Assessment has been developed by the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) in its role as part of Skills for Care and Development. Skills for Care and Development (SfC&D) is the Sector Skills Council for the 1.4 million people working in the social services in the UK (Skills for Care and Development, 2010). It is an alliance of six organisations including the SSSC.

Scottish social services sector: report on 2010 workforce data

This is the third workforce data report published by the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC). The report combines data from the Scottish Government’s annual census of staff in local authority social work services with data from the annual returns collected by the Care Inspectorate from all registered care providers. The data presented in this report were gathered in late 2010.
